3 Fun Experiences to Add to Your Dream Wine Tour
Transcript for planning your dream wine tour:
So you’ve decided you’re going to plan a wine tour. Congratulations. Now the question is, what do you want to include in the wine tour? Well, first of all, what you need to know is, if you only do wine tours on your wine tour, you may find the trip to be a little bit uninteresting.
Hi, I’m Pascale Bernasse with French Wine Explorers. And we help French wine lovers become Connoisseurs with our online classes, and immersive wine tours to France.
You’ve decided you want to plan your dream wine tour to France, or perhaps somewhere abroad. But you’re not really sure what you should be thinking about when planning your trip.
Here are three things we think you should include in order to plan your dream wine tour. Whether you use a wine tour expert like myself, or you plan it on your own.
- First, you want to plan some type of exercise experience in the vineyards.
- What I mean by this is, think about biking in the vineyards, or hiking in the vineyards. This is a great way to experience the vineyards in a way that you would be unable to do if you’re just going on a typical wine tour.
- Next, think about an Alfresco meal or a picnic in the vineyards.
- This is a great way to experience the wine amongst the beautiful scenery that you’re exposed to. And it gives you a great story to tell when you come home and a memory attached to that story.
- Third, why not save a couple of days to visit the city that’s closest to wine country.
- For example, if you’re visiting Burgundy, spend a day at least in Dijon.
- If you’re in the southern Rhône, where Châteauneuf-du-Pape is, consider Avignon.
- Northern Rhône, consider Lyon.
- Bordeaux, consider a couple of days in the city of Bordeaux.
- And if you’re visiting the Loire Valley, a must-do is Amboise, in the center and the heart of wine touring in the Loire Valley.
- For example, if you’re visiting Burgundy, spend a day at least in Dijon.
So let’s recap: Wine touring can be very interesting and very fulfilling as long as you include a little bit of variety and a lot of quality to your trip.
- Consider adding a bike tour or hike
- An Al fresco meal or picnic
- And the city tour.
With those three elements included in your wine trip, you’re sure to have a great time.
